Government planning to relax MOT test rules
The UK Government is planning to relax regulations relating to the MOT tests for cars and will implement a new system, in which the drivers will only to have to take their cars fort test once in two years.
The annual tests will not be requires for all vehicles under 10 years while the older cars will b under the current system. This means that new cars will have be tested only after fours years of their instead of three.
There are some concerns that the move will cause more accidents and jobs at repair stations, which provide repair service to get the car through the tests, will be lost. However, Department for Transport has said that the ministers are planning to implement the new rule.
Gordon Brown has suggested relaxing of rules three years ago to help drivers cope with the rising prices of fuel. Drivers could save hundreds of pounds under the new system.
