Goa political crisis over, says Praful Patel

Nationalist Congress PartyNew Delhi, Jan 19 : Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) General Secretary Praful Patel on Saturday said that all issues with the Congress-led Government in Goa have been resolved.

After day-long deliberations with concerned parties, Patel said all NCP MLAs, MGP MLAs, Independent Vishwajit Rane and Save Goa Front member have decided to support the Digamber Kamat government.

"All matters have been solved," he added.

Kamat will announce "the formula" to solve the issues on his return to Goa on Sunday, he said.

However, Patel did not disclose if Kamat has agreed to make some changes in his Cabinet to resolve the present crisis.

Kamat had arrived in New Delhi on Friday for talks with Central leaders.

On Wednesday, the seven-month-old Government was reduced to a minority after three NCP MLAs along with Rane withdrew their support to the government.

The Goa Legislative Assembly was prorogued on Thursday following Kamat's recommendation.

The ministers and a few ruling legislators were reportedly unhappy over functioning of State Finance Minister Dayanand Narvekar. (ANI)
