The GMC Hummer EV Pickup and GMC Hummer EV SUV has finally received EPA-estimated range and fuel efficiency ratings, which will make it more reliable for owners of these EVs to determine how far the vehicle can go on a full charge.

The official website of the EPA, which is an independent executive agency of the U.S. federal government tasked with environmental protection matters, is now showing the 2024 GMC Hummer EV Pickup with a range rating of 314 miles. The 2024 GMC Hummer EV Pickup Mud-Terrain (MT) Tires, 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV, and the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV MT Tires have received range ratings of 298 miles, 314 miles, and 298 miles, respectively.

The EPA rating of the GMC Hummer EV Pickup is more interesting as previously GM was estimating the vehicle’s driving range on its own. Last year, the automobile giant had said that the GMC Hummer EV Pickup wouldn’t get an EPA rating because its classification as a heavy-duty pickup.

The EPA Combined range figures for the aforementioned vehicles match the ones that the manufacturer had published for the GMC Hummer EV SUV Edition 1 and 3X trims, which come equipped with a smaller battery pack (20 modules). It also makes it clear that the versions that have 20-module battery packs are light enough to be rated by the EPA.

The 3X trim comes equipped with 20-moudle battery pack, the pickup offers the option of 24-module battery. Obviously, the double-stacked battery pack (24 modules0 in the GMC Hummer EV Pickup 3X trim gives it a higher range.

The 2024 GMC Hummer EV Pickup has received a range rating of 381 miles, while the 2024 GMC Hummer EV Pickup MT Tires has a range of 359 miles. Both EVs’ fresh range ratings are considerably higher than their respective range ratings published last year.

While the manufacturer hasn’t mentioned the exact battery capacity of the aforementioned vehicles, experts say that it is easy to estimate that the 24-module battery translate into a level of 205 kilowatt-hours (kWh), while the 20-module battery is roughly equivalent to 170 kWh.

When it comes to EPA energy consumption, the 2024 GMC Hummer EV Pickup/SUV (3X) 20BM has received combined rating of 53 MPGe: 636 Wh/mi (395 Wh/km). In city and on highway, the EV has energy consumption ratings of 59 MPGe: 571 Wh/mi (355 Wh/km) and 48 MPGe: 702 Wh/mi (436 Wh/km), respectively.
