Amman  - German Deputy Interior Minister Hans-August Hanning on Tuesday discussed the situation in the Gaza Strip and bilateral security cooperation with the Jordanian Interior Minister Eid al- Fayez.

"The two sides discussed the situation in the region and the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian brethren in the Gaza Strip," an Interior Ministry statement said.

"Al-Fayez reiterated the Jordanian stand which calls for an immediate cessation of the Israeli aggression," it added.

The discussions also reviewed "means of boosting bilateral cooperation between the Interior Ministries in the two countries," the statement said. (dpa)
