Geojit Paribas posts profit in March quarter
Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services announced on Tuesday that it has managed to post profit for the quarter ending March. This is commendable since the leading brokerage house had posted a loss for the same period last year.
As per the details, it recorded a profit of Rs. 7.07 crore for the above mentioned period as against Rs. 10.93 crore loss last year.
In a filing sent to the Bombay Stock Exchange, the firm showed its consolidated income to be Rs. 62.09 crore for the March quarter. This is an increase over last year when the figure was Rs. 43.74 crore.
Besides, the consolidate net profit of the firm rose from Rs. 40.02 crore in the above mentioned period of last fiscal to Rs. 45.76 crore, this year.
Also the standalone net profit of Geojit Paribas rose to Rs. 8.14 crore from Rs. 1.56 crore during the last period. On the other hand, the standalone net income increased from Rs. 34.09 crore to Rs. 55.80 crore.
With these figures, the consolidated net income of the company rose up to Rs. 278.59 crore as against Rs. 173.60 crore, for the last year.
