Since it seems that the industry is finding it hard to pay dues to the airports, it has called for government intervention to pay it in installments, in the same manner as they have been allowed to pay for the fuel.

Interest rate cut recommended by Industry lobby With the aim to support the economy in the times of financial crisis, a set of recommendations, including further cut in key interest rates were planned on Sunday by the leading industry body, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). 

A statement issued by the chamber said, "It is necessary to further reduce repo rate by at least 50 basis points and in CRR (cash reserve ratio) by 150 bps to ensure adequate liquidity and reasonable cost of funding."

Indian PM expresses concern over the Nano episode The Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, expressed his concerns over the situations under which Ratan Tata had to shift the Nano car project from West Bengal to Gujarat. Furthermore, the PM added that there is an earnest need for industrialization in the country. 

Nano episode had been making headlines in Media from quite some time now, and when Mr.Singh was asked to comment on it, he said, "Well, we are a free democratic country. It is certainly sad the circumstances in which Ratan Tata had to move his project."

Mother batters daughter to death with a mop

A mother in New York, admitted that she battered her 11 year old daughter with a mop handle and left her to die in bed.

According to detectives, the woman, Florenzia Vazquez, beat her daughter so hard that the handle of the mop was mangled.

According to the NY Times, it was "a thrashing so severe it left the girl listless, vomiting and confined to bed." The girl’s elder sister had been removed from the home earlier this year after she accused her mother of abuse.

The city's child welfare agency is investigating and authorities say charges against the woman and her boyfriend are pending.

8 year old shoots himself accidently in gun fair

An 8 year old boy died in a gun fair when he accidently shot himself in the head. He was firing an Uzi submachine at Machine Gun Shoot and Firearms Expo at the Westfield Sportsman's Club but under supervision. 

The boy was with a certified instructor and "was shooting the weapon down range when the force of the weapon made it travel up and back toward his head, where he suffered the injury," a police statement said. Police called it a "self-inflicted accidental shooting." Yet the police are investigating the matter. 

He died at Baystate Medical Center. His name has not been disclosed yet.
 

Scientific proof to show that ‘ warm hands lead to a warm heart’

The age old saying- warm hands lead to a warm heart, has now been backed by science. A research was conducted by Lawrence Williams, an assistant professor of marketing at the University of Colorado, and John A. Bargh, a Yale University psychology professor.

It took the professor a few cups of coffee to prove his point. He says that the connection between warm hands and warm heart lies in our heads. 

Hot cup of coffee were given to a group who was asked to assess a stranger on kindness and generosity. A second group was given iced coffee and asked to assess the stranger on the same points.
