Alleged unfair issue of 2G spectrum allocation by department of telecommunication has reached in Delhi high court. Petitioner Mr. Arvind Gupata challenged the First Come First Serve policy of government and alleged that telecom ministry is playing in the hands of some real estate majors and infrastructure giants. PIL alleged that government allotted 2G spectrums at throwaway prices causing huge loss to state exchequer.

There is no dearth of air travelers despite slowdown in aviation sector of the country. Air travel registered positive growth of about 17 per cent in October. It’s surprising, while domestic aviation industry is facing tough situation following global slowdown, high input costs and liquidity crunch. Some airlines have also started retrenchment drive in a line to cut additional cost besides adopting other cost cutting measures.

Leading Japanese mobile company, NTT DoCoMo would acquire 26% in TATA Teleservices. Tata Teleservices (TTSL) is a subsidiary of TATA group which offers CDMA based services across India having 25 million subscribers in 20 telecom circles. The Japan based company would pay around Rs 12,770 crore to TATA for this acquisition.

DoCoMo valued mobile service provider at Rs 50,269 crore and it would buy six per cent from Tata Sons and other group companies while remaining 20 per cent from the shares issued by TATA Teleservices.

Researchers say that heart transplant patients’ survival chances improve if the sex of the donor and patient is the same. The study, presented at a New Orleans meeting of the American Heart Assn. articulates that the survival rate goes up by as much as 25 % if the sex of both the donor and the recipient is the same. Although men and women's hearts are anatomically identical, researchers feel it could be due to differences in size or immune systems between the sexes.

China's drug regulator, the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA), ordered the withdrawal of a hemorrhoid medicine over concerns that it might cause liver problems.

The Sichuan-based Vital Pharmaceutical Holdings Ltd. was ordered by the SFDA to stop producing and selling Zhixue capsules and asked to begin a nationwide recall Xinhua news agency reported. The recall came after 21 people around the country developed liver problems and 14 others reported adverse reactions to the medication in recent months, the agency reported.
