Former PCB chief Khalid Mehmood blasted the apex body for persisting with Akhtar when youngsters needed to be given more opportunity to prove their mettle.

The PCB has included three rebel cricketers Abdul Razzaq, Rana Naved-ul-Hasan and Imran Nazir in the list of 30 probable for the T20 World Championship.

"Miandad will look after the development of domestic cricket in Pakistan. He will be special advisor to the PCB Chairman and also be incharge of development of women's cricket as per instructions of PCB chief Ijaz Butt," The Daily Times quoted a PCB spokesperson, as saying.

He added that finance, international and administrative issues would not come under Miandad's work area.

Pak players want to take part in IPLLahore, Apr. 7: Pakistani players have expressed their desire to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) following the tournament’s shift from India.

According to The News, some players have approached the IPL management through e-mails, but have not received any reply.

It is, however, highly unlikely that IPL franchises would recall Pakistan players, as they had earlier refused to play in the league when it was being held in India following a call from their government.

When Dravid went low and forward to his left to catch Kiwi opener Tim McIntosh off Zaheer Khan he became the outright holder of the record on 182, one ahead of Australian slip ace Mark Waugh.

"We advised him to keep the ball," the Dominion Post quoted team-mate Yuvraj Singh, as saying.
