Pak Army denies arrest of its soldier by Indian authorities

Islamabad, Dec 24: The Pakistan Army has rejected India''s claim that an infantry soldier of its 10 AK (Azad Kashmir) regiment has been arrested along with two suicide attackers.

Sepoy Ghulam Farid, who had been arrested by Indian authorities, had deserted from Okara on June 6, 2008, Dawn quoted an army official, as saying.

"He is certainly not an army employee. His unit is not deployed on the Line of Control," he added.

An other Pakistan army official added that the Indians might have arrested Ghulam Farid some time in the past.

New York, December 24: Sam Mendes has revealed that directing wife Kate Winslet in steamy scenes with Leonardo DiCaprio for the movie `Revolutionary Road' had been "a profoundly weird experience".

The English filmmaker said that the entire experience had been so strange that he could not bear to watch it.

Mendes, instead, monitored the action on a video screen in another room, reports the New York Post.

The 43-year-old told Britain''s Observer that he would scream, "Leo, don''t bang her head so hard against the kitchen cabinets!" and "Could you not do it for so long this time?"

And when the `Titanic' actor asked him for specific details, Mendes replied, "About 45 seconds."

Ancient ‘treasure’ found in farmer’s bookshelf in Italy

Washington, Dec 24: Italian police have found the long-sought "treasure of Satricum", consisting of more than 500 delicate miniature pots crafted about 2,600 years ago, in a farmer's bookshelf.

According to a report in Discovery News, the "treasure" was discovered during a police investigation in the countryside near the village of Campoverde di Aprilia, some 25 miles south of Rome.

The archaeological squad of the Carabinieri police noticed suspicious mounds, which are typical of a dig, near a small lake known as "Laghetto del Monsignore".

After spotting fragments of pottery in the soil, the Carabinieri placed the farmer who was working that land under investigation.
