Washington, Jan 12 : Tom Cruise is totally unfazed by the hullabaloo surrounding his World War II epic `Valkyrie', and insists that he has been dealing with such controversies all through his film career.

In the movie, the `Top Gun' star plays injured World War II Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, who led a plot to assassinate Nazi leader Adolf Hitler in 1944.

When talks of Cruise taking up the role started filtering out, the history-making colonel''s children voiced objections to his portraying their father.

London, Jan 12 : Forensics experts would no longer have to visit the site of a crime again and again for their probe, thanks to Kiwi researchers who have developed a
3D scanner that can create a `virtual' model of any given area.

The team led by Robert Valkenburg of Industrial Research in Auckland, New Zealand, has developed a computerised 3D model that can be navigated as if investigators were at the crime scene.

The hand held device consists of a laser scanner combined with a digital camera, which can record a scene with millimetre accuracy.

The scanner creates a 3D model of the scene, onto which images from the camera are superimposed.

The jury selected the yet-to-be released Ramadas Naidu’s ‘Moggina Jade’ and Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar’s ‘Mathad Mathad Mallige’ for the second and third best films respectively.
