South Korea MapSeoul - North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il has, according to South Korean media reports, named the youngest of his three sons as his successor.

Kim issued an order on January 8 to the leadership of the communist Workers' Party that Kim Jong Un should take his place, South Korean news agency Yonhap reported on Thursday, citing intelligence reports.

The decision to name Jong Un, believed to be around 25 years old, came earlier than expected amid reports of the worsening of Kim's health.

A scuffle broke out when an Israeli citizen attacked the protesters, Polish Radio said.

The Israeli was taken to a hospital and three Poles were detained.

Yemen retracts support for Arab summit in Doha

Yemen MapSana'a, Yemen - A Yemeni official source said on Thursday that his country has retracted its support for an emergency summit by Arab leaders in Doha to discuss the Israeli offensive in Gaza.

"Yemen retracted the support it has announced for the Doha summit," the source, who requested anonymity, told Deutsche Presse- Agentur dpa.

He said the move was aimed at "avoiding a split among Arab countries that might be caused by the conflicting plans for summits to discuss the situation in Gaza."

The source said Yemen "urges Arab leaders to give Gaza a top priority in the Kuwait economic summit."
