Fritzl offered ''luxury'' jail deal for not contesting his case

Fritzl offered ''luxury'' jail deal for not contesting his caseLondon, Mar 14 : Josef Fritzl, the Austrian incest fiend who held his daughter as a sex slave for 24 years and fathered seven children with her, has been offered a choice of luxury prisons if he doesn't appeal his sentence.

The 73-year-old goes on trial on Monday for repeatedly raping his daughter and caging her for more than two decades, reports The Sun.

Prosecutors say if he doesn't contest his sentence he can have a single cell in a luxury jail.

The prison offers inmates meditation, tennis, football and darts and even has a state-of-the-art gym. Activities include singing and cookery lessons.

If he rejects the deal, Fritzl could go to Austria's high-security Goellersdorf mental asylum.

There was fury at Fritzl's special treatment yesterday.

An editorial in the Austrian Times said: "It is an insult to his daughter Elisabeth, who suffered in a windowless, rat-infested dungeon where she did not have regular meals or exercise for 24 years."

Fritzl kept daughter Elisabeth locked in a prison under the family home in Amstetten. She had seven kids, one of whom died soon after birth.

He faces charges of murder, incest, rape, false imprisonment, slavery and abuse. (ANI)
