Ford: All-new Fusion Hybrid is most fuel-efficient midsize sedan in US
According to an earlier this week revelation by the Ford Motor officials, the company's all-new new Ford Fusion Hybrid has received an official certification from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which deems it as the most fuel-efficient midsize sedan in the US.
Based on a review of the findings from its test cycles of the new Ford Fusion Hybrid - which boasts impressive looks, features and fuel-efficiency -, the EPA said that the gas- and electric motor-equipped Fusion Hybrid was capable of delivering 47 miles per gallon on the highway and 47 mpg in the city.
Bringing the most expansive array of powertrain options to the critical midsize segment in the US, the new Ford Fusion Hybrid delivers the highest-ever fuel economy figures in highway and city driving for a midsize sedan; beating rival Toyota Camry Hybrid by 8 mpg highway and 4 mpg city.
According to Ford president and CEO Alan Mulally, Fusion Hybrid - which will be available in hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions and two fuel-efficient EcoBoost four-cylinder engines - clearly reiterates Ford's commitment to "class-leading fuel efficiency" as one of the leading reasons for purchasing Ford vehicles; giving the customers the advantage of selecting the fuel-efficient powertrain which best suits their needs.
With the new Fusion Hybrid equipped with Active Noise Cancellation to be the quietest midsize sedan ever, Mulally said that the car "is part of our plan to offer vehicles with the very best quality, fuel efficiency, safety, smart design and value."
