Facebook acquires travel guide firmFacebook has acquired a travel recommendation company, Nextstop, reports Reuters news agency.

The post in the blog of Nextstop’s website, states that the social network giant plans to roll out the recently performed travel suggestions network by 1 September. A representative for Facebook stated: “We can confirm that we recently completed a small talent acquisition for Nextstop and acquired most of the company's assets. We’ve admired the engineering team’s efforts for some time now and we’re excited to have them join Facebook.” It was further seen that the website was launched by Carl Sjogreen and Adrian Graham, both ex-employees of Google, in 2009.

Through the messages published on the site of Nextstop, it was made clear that the company aims to bestow its existing registered users two months a trial checking for the usage of the site and save all their data to Picasa Web Albums, Google Maps, or to export it in PDF or HTML format.

At the same time it is also assumed that the company will likely offer a collective knowledge that offers information of close to 100,000 recommendations for places around the world.
