European Union's Election Observer MissionKathmandu, Mar 18: The European Union (EU) Election Observation Mission (EOM) on Tuesday called for an atmosphere free of violence and intimidation during the forthcoming Nepalese Constituent Assembly (CA) elections scheduled on April 10.

Mulder said the main mandate given to the EU EOM was to observe if the polls were held in a free and fair manner by meeting the international norms and standards.

The mission has already started mobilizing the observers.

He informed that the EU EOM was going to mobilise 120 observers to take account of situation for the elections.

The mission will also coordinate with international and domestic organisations working to observe poll so that polls will be monitored well in the remote areas, according him.
