ETA bomb damages home of Basque entrepreneur in Spain
Bilbao, Spain - Suspected members of the militant Basque separatist group ETA on Thursday planted explosives near a Basque entrepreneur's home, causing slight material damage but no injuries, officials said.
The entrepreneur, who lives in the Basque locality of Amorebieta, was believed to be on ETA's hit list.
Several Basque entrepreneurs' associations condemned threats by ETA to business owners who refused to pay the group "revolutionary taxes."
The attack came just as Basque socialists and conservatives are negotiating in view of forming the region's first government defending its unity with Spain.
ETA has killed more than 820 people, four of them in 2008. The group is classified as a terrorist organization by the European Union and the United States. (dpa)
