Embattled Malaysian Airlines opt for giveaways to win back trust
Sydney, Aug 28 : In order to stay afloat from a business point of view, a struggling Malaysian Airlines has opted to cut-price flights and giveaways in order to win back the trust of its customers and crew who have deserted the airline.
Aiming for passengers from Australia and New Zealand, the airline has launched a USD 495 dollar economy class return airfare ticket to Kuala Lumpur. This comes days after its rival Air Asia launched its own sale, including flights from Australia to the Malaysian capital from USD 159 dollars and onward flights starting from USD 13 dollars.
Not only that in order to survive the beleaguered airline has opted to giving away 12 return flights to Kuala Lumpur as part of its "My Ultimate Bucket List" competition which starts on Monday, and is open to those who book a flight with Malaysia Airlines online until the end of 2014, news. com. au reported.
The airline which has witnessed a 11 percent drop in number of passengers in July from the year before has upped travel agents' commission from six to 11 percent to see its flights full. (ANI)
