'Dream PC' A Reality If Intel, Asus Succeed
Technology moving at supersonic speed is making possible what was once considered impossible. How about a computer which is based on your ideas and concepts. Well, Intel and Asus are making it happen.
The companies are working on a site WePC.com, which is based on the concept of "world's first community-Designed PCs."
The site will enable consumers to express their ideas about various features like netbooks, notebooks and gaming books. General Manager of Intel Marketing Group, Mike Hoefflinger said, "Intel believes the spark for innovation can come from anywhere........Visitors to the site can share ideas, vote on submitted concepts and engage in discussions with other community members about the qualities of the 'dream PC'."
The ideas shared by people range from interesting to hilarious. Many suggested more powerful batteries, less shiny screens and lighter overall weight. There were specific desires for processors and high definition screens with 3G connectivity. Some asked for a durable notebook which is waterproof with 'nighttime look to glow in the dark' while another suggested telepathic communication that would rely on sensing of brainwaves.
Another interesting perception is of doing away with the notebook's buttons and screen for a virtual reality experience. "I know that the technology for plugging your computer directly into your brain is very far off, but we've got some fairly cheap technology that could be applied to a computer that would be fairly awesome," reported a spokesperson.
The funny ones included "I like the idea of a laptop that has hair on it. You can then cut laptop's hair to your liking. The hair of course grows so you can have multiple haircuts a year.”
This technology will enable you to dream unlimited and also fulfill your dreams.
