With dollar going up, Grain prices come down
As the dollar jumped higher, trading up 0.59 on the dollar index, prices closed lower on Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade.
Corn was off 2 3/4 to off 3 3/4, soybeans were off 11 1/4 to off 13 3/6, wheat was off 3/4 to off 1 3/4 and oats were off 1/4 to off 3/4.
It was also reported that Corn found support in light deliveries and China's continued moderate buying but gains were held in check by rapid planting progress and the prospect of more corn acres being added.
According to officials, favorable weather in the Corn Belt and a higher dollar weakened prices for corn Monday.
Wheat also fell with weather pointing to the possibility of higher yields.
With old crop soybeans losing ground to new and exports low for the week, soybeans prices fell. (With Inputs from Agencies)
