Discovery promotes Kelly Day to COO digital media & commerce division
The global media and entertainment limited liability company based in United States - Discovery Communications, Inc. has jacked up the position of Kelly Day, naming her COO of the digital media and commerce division of the company.
According to Silver Spring, Maryland based Discovery Communications, Kelly Day, who was previously working as COO of the company's Commerce division, will now take care of the operations of the recently (combined) created Digital Media and Commerce division, which include Discovery Communications' US web sites, interactive technology, digital operations & programming, and licensing & home entertainment.
Kelly Day is set to report to Discovery Digital Media and Corporate Development president Bruce Campbell. Day was vice president of e-commerce at The Knot, a wedding media company, before joining Discovery in 2005. Before that, Day worked at AOL holding a variety of digital media/commerce positions; she was know for developing developed new products for its portal site.
Speaking of Kelly Day, Bruce Campbell said, "Kelly has proven herself to be a strong operational leader and has built a robust commerce offering that extends the Discovery brand beyond the television screen. With her broad understanding of technology and consumer behavior, she is the ideal candidate to deepen the level of engagement across all of our digital platforms."
