Deposed Pak chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry to reveal “secrets” on Nov 3Islamabad, Oct 21: Deposed Pakistani chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said he had many “secrets in his heart” and would share some of them with the public on November
3 during his address to the Rawalpindi Bar Association.

Justice Iftikhar, who, for the first time, entered the Supreme Court premises yesterday after being unceremoniously removed last year, said that he was going to tell some of the secrets to the public on November 3, and would inform the nation about the “demands that were being made from them from time to time”.

Justice Iftikhar said those who used to say that the Constitution was restored were “totally wrong” as the steps taken on November 3, 2007, were totally illegal and unconstitutional.

“Unless and until the elected Parliament validates the steps taken by the former military general on November 3, 2007, constitution could not be restored,” The News quoted him as saying in the Supreme Court

On his arrival at the premises of the Supreme Court, a large number of jubilant lawyers chanted slogans in his favour. He was received by SCBA President Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan along with other leading lawyers of the movement including Ali Ahmed Kurd and Muhammad Ikram Chaudhry advocate.

According to the paper, the Islamabad administration had sealed all the roads leading to the Judges’ Enclave and the lawyers’ leaders as well as the media representatives were stopped from entering the colony by setting up pickets at both the gates of the colony. (ANI)
