DDA starts internal inquiry into controversial draw of flatsThe controversial draw of lots of over 5,000 flats by Delhi Development Authority would go through internal investigation following reports of rigging and miss practices adopted by authorities while allotting flats. The crime branch of Delhi police is also looking into the matter following complaints of alleged conspicuous role of some property dealers in allotment.

A three member committee has set up under DDA Financial Advisor Nandlal to examine the proper implementation of rules and procedures in flat allotment. DDA Vice Chairman, A K Nigam has directed the committee to submit report by Friday. It is to be noted that Union Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy expressed concerns over complaints of corruption and directed DDA to conduct high level enquiry into the matter.

A senior official of DDA said, "We are cooperating with the EOW. They looked through all records pertaining to the housing scheme and asked for other documents as well. They reportedly intend to complete the inquiry in three days. "

Meanwhile, DDA pubic relation officer, Neemo Dhar said, "The draw for waiting list applicants is part of the main draw. The successful numbers are picked from the computer randomized numbers."
