CBI to summon Cong MP Darda and mining tycoon Jayaswal
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is likely to summon Congress MP Vijay Darda, his brother Rajender Darda, mining tycoon Manoj Jayaswal for questioning this week, as a part of its ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities in coal block allocations.
It is alleged that AMR Iron and steel, which is jointly owned by Dadras and Jayaswal, was allotted coal blocks after the company's representatives met the then minister of state for coal Santosh Bagrodia in 2008. The CBI alleges that Bagrodia was instrumental in getting coal blocks allocated to AMR.
The CBI will try to detect Bagrodia's any links with Dadras and Jayaswal.
The CBI FIR alleges, "A meeting was held between the officials of AMR and MoS coal."
The FIR also alleges that Bagrodia was well aware of the fact that Nagpur-based AMR was ineligible for the coal block allocations because it already had gotten five coal blocks.
A source revealed that the central investigation agency would also summon Bagrodia for questioning after it completed questioning of the twenty accused in the cases.
The officials who had screened applications for coal blocks would also be ordered to record their statements with regard to the ongoing investigation.
