The World Economic Forum (WEF) announced that Nivio has been awarded the Technology Pioneer Award for 2009.
Nivio joins an elite group of visionary companies selected for conceptions that will have a world-changing impact on society as well as businesses.
Previous Technology Pioneers Awardees, which have today turned into multi-billion dollar organizations include Google, Infosys, Mozilla Corporation and Nanosolar among others.
Ongoing global financial crisis has forced Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) to revise its capital expenditure plans for the current financial year. The chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of TCS, Mr S. Ramadorai said that the company may delay some projects following the international crisis. He said that the financial crisis would impact all companies in the world, irrespective of geographical boundaries. The company is employing various cost cutting measures to improve efficacy and productivity. He ruled out any retrenchment drive by the company in the near future.

Stephen Hawking, the famous international physicist, has been appointed to the post of distinguished research chair at a quantum theory and cosmology institute founded by Research In Motion co-CEO Mike Lazaridis.
