KLG Systel bags repeat order worth Rs 306 millionKLG Systel has made announcement that company's power system solution (PSS) division has secured an order worth Rs 306 million from Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN).

According to sources, this is the repeat order, which has been awarded to the company for executing engineering procurement construction (EPC) project.

The major activity of India-based KLG Systel is to offer software, information technology solutions and IT enabled services.

Kingfisher plans to expand routes to South AsiaVijay Mallya controlled Kingfisher Airlines has announced that it intends to expand its routes in South Asia. According to sources, company's first flight in South Asia will start from January 19, which will connect Chennai and Bangalore with Colombo.

The private air-carrier (Kingfisher) has also intends to roll out a Bangalore-Dubai flight on February 8, while Mumbai-Bangkok and Bangalore-Bangkok flights are expected to launch on the February 12 and Kolkata-Dhaka flight on February 16.

BOC wins 15-year long-term contract from SAIL

BOC wins 15-year long-term contract from SAIL BOC India, the arm of BOC Group, which is the second largest industrial gases company in the world, has secured an order from state-run Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) for supply of gas to meet its increasing demand.

Under the 15-year long term contract, BOC will supply 2600 tpd of oxygen, nitrogen and argon gases to SAIL, to meet its incremental demand as the company is expanding capacity at its Rourkela Steel Plant.

Nearly16,000 workers to be laid off by IBMIt might be disheartening to know that the IT Examiner sources have revealed that IBM might be dismissing 16,000 workers in 2009 and those belonging to the hardware area would suffer the most.

“We came to know about the 16,000 job cuts. The reports are true though nothing has been made official yet from the management’s side. It will definitely have huge impact on IBM jobs mainly in parts like China, Europe and US,” reported the IT Examiner, quoting a source.

Punj Lloyd drags SABIC case in UK courtEngineering and Construction Company, Punj Lloyd's UK based subsidiary - Simon Carves (SCL) has filed a case against SABIC Petrochemicals UK Ltd on the issue of advance payment bond and a performance bond. The company demanded costs and damages associated with cost overruns in the project. The UK based court is likely to give its verdict within few weeks as per reports of The Financial Times.
 
It may be noted that Simon Carves (SCL) had signed a contract with SABIC for the construction of a LDPE plant in UK. However, it was terminated alleging SCL's failure to complete the project in time.

Strike Called Off For 30 Days, Says ONGCThe Association of Scientific and Technical Officers (AOSTO) of ONGC, a major part of the oil sector officers unions, has declared that they have suspended their protest for 30 days.

Mr. Rajan Pillai, AOSTO President, said that a letter in this regard is being submitted to the administration.

Mr. Pillai also that the association is sticking to its demand to revise the pay structure.

The Government has said the ministries concerned will analyze the whole matter regarding pay revision in the oil segment, and submit a complete report within next 30 days.
