New York - Ford Motor Company will not meet its goal to return to profitability by 2009, hurt by rising costs and declining interest in its fuel-hungry trucks and sport utility vehicles, executives said Thursday.

The second-largest US automaker had pledged to again be in the black by next year, but that goal has been delayed and instead the company will likely break-even in
2009, chief executive Alan Mulally said in a statement.

Longbridge, England - The Chinese owners of iconic carmaker MG have announced that the TF sports model will be back in production in Britain from August this year.

The reborn TF should be in showrooms a month later, announced NAC (Nanjing Automobile Corporation) MG UK Ltd which bought the assets of the collapsed MG Rover brand in 2005.

The first TFs will be offered as a special edition called TF LE 500 but although they feature new engines and interior, the car's design is more than ten years old. The revamped model will be built at the Longbridge plant near Birmingham.
