BSNL Set To Increase Its Hold In Palakkad District

In order to increase its capacity coverage, the Palakkad telecom district of Bharti Sanchar BSNL Set To Increase Its Hold In Palakkad DistrictNigam Limited (BSNL) is planning to set up nearly 27,000 broadband lines and 50 additional mobile towers.

While speaking with mediapersons K L Jairam, BSNL general manager said, “There is a spare land line capacity of 60,000 in the district and a spare capacity of 30,000 for WLL which could help provide instant connections to as many persons.”

Apart from providing 3G Mobile services in the Palakkad municipal area, the state owned telecom major also plans to provide broadband/broadband triple play services (voice, internet and video) in all exchange areas in the district.

Jairam also said that BSNL also plans to provide full CDMA coverage and complaint free exchanges in the district and provide Mobile Instant Messaging (MIM) services. The company has already invested nearly Rs 50 crore in the current financial year.
