Britain's Lloyd's bank reports further writedowns
London - Britain's Lloyd's Bank Tuesday revealed additional credit crunch losses of 387 million pounds (774 million dollars), taking its total exposure so far to over 667 million pounds.
But Lloyd's said its funding position was strong and it was "firmly on track" to deliver a good first half performance.
It saw no no need to follow other leading British banks by asking shareholders to bolster finances through rights issues, Lloyd's said.
The group already reported writedowns of 280 million pounds at late last year and said it still had 200 million pounds in indirect exposure to US sub-prime mortgage related investments. (dpa)
