Brazilian team reacts to Kaka transfer

Brazilian team reacts to Kaka transfer Bloemfontein - With their Confederations Cup opener against Egypt just two days away, Brazil's legion of stars took time out to speak about the transfers that have dominated football news recently - particularly compatriot Kaka's 94-million-dollar move from AC Milan to Real Madrid.

"Kaka knows that it will be a challenge to play in Spain, and to him it's very important to prove himself at such a great club," revealed Sevilla forward Luis Fabiano.

Fellow big-money transfer Robinho, who joined Manchester City from Real Madrid for 59 million dollars in 2008, had no doubt that the 27-year-old number 10 would make an immediate impact in La Liga.

"Kaka is an experienced player, and he has the quality to achieve great things anywhere," said the baby-faced striker at the team's hotel outside Bloemfontein. "And personally, I hope he makes history in Spain because he's a good guy and he deserves to have success."

Talk quickly turned to Real Madrid's spending spree, which so far has also included Cristiano Ronaldo's prospective 130-million-dollar move from Manchester United and a rumoured move for Valencia's David Villa.

"I don't know if these fees are too much money to spend for one player," said Inter Milan's Maicon, who has also been linked with a move to Real but refused to comment on the possibility.

"Really I think it's worth it," Maicon continued with a laugh. "But then the money didn't come out of my pocket."

"I wouldn't ask whether it's worth it or not," said Robinho, whose Premier League club has deep pockets of its own. "Real have the money, and if given the chance to get such players - good for them. Ultimately, it will show on the pitch whether they made the right decision."

New Spanish rival Luis Fabiano couldn't resist a dig at the next generation of 'Galaticos' however, saying "Even with all their stars, Real Madrid may not be the best team in Spain because I am not sure they can handle Barcelona.

"But that will be Kaka's big challenge." (dpa)
