BP's Tony Hayward may be put in board of Glencore

Tony-HaywardFormer executive of BP, Tony Hayward may be a possible candidate for the board of director of Glencore.

That is seriously going to be a big leap for the man who was thrown out of the post of CEO in BP after the Gulf of Mexico oil spill happened.

Glencore is the world's biggest commodity trader and entering it would mean that Tony will be able to regain his stature in the industry. He was forced to step down from his post as CEO of BP in October after facing a lot of criticism for his gaffe-prone public appearances when the firm was facing the oil spill crisis.

Meanwhile, his name became public after Glencore decided that it would be going for possible listing in the coming few months. As the trader is planning to revamp its board, Ivan Glasenberg, CEP of the Swiss firm is looking out for options.

It is said that Hayward's name has not been finalised till now and he is just in the considering phase.

Glencore own 35 per cent stake in FTSE-100 listed mining firm, Xstrata. And when it comes to listing it is going to be one of the largest at the London Stock Exchange.
