Blue Dart to hike rates once again

Blue Dart Express Limited, South Asia’s No. 1 integrated Air Express, Blue Dart to hike rates once againCourier and Logistics Company plans to hike rates of its air and ground services by 10 – 15 percent in August or September, this fiscal.

The company claims that increase in factors like manpower cost, fuel prices, property prices and rental are the main reasons behind the price hike.

Aviation turbine fuel prices have gone up by 18.5 per cent in the last few months and more than doubled in the last three years

The company also plans to invest Rs200 crore on acquiring or building more warehouses, collection hubs, and developing airport infrastructure this fiscal. The company expects to add 58 warehouses over the next two-three years.

The company today has announced opening up of the India-Bangladesh trade lane for handling shipments passing through the Petrapole border. The company is also eyeing air connectivity to Sri Lanka, Dubai and Singapore for providing integrated transportation, distribution and logistics solutions.    

Presently, Blue Dart has six Boeing freighters operating across seven metros of the country.
