London, Jan 29 : English midfielder David Beckham has revealed that he is going to stay in Milan, leaving wife Victoria's American dream in tatters.

Beckham broke his silence to speak for the first time about how playing in Italy was a "dream" and hinting his move to America was a mistake, the Daily Star reported.

AC Milan midfielder, who is taking Italian lessons, made it clear that while he is playing top-class football then his career will always come first.

In a veiled message to wife Posh, 34, that he wants to stay in Italy he said: "When I finish playing I will enjoy my family and I will work with my coaching schools in England, Brazil and the United States."

Former England captain also told of his "frustration" at playing for LA Galaxy in a league that was "10 years behind" European standards.

It is the first time he has revealed his true feelings about his move to the MLS. His comments are another sign of the turmoil the Beckhams are in over his move to AC Milan.

Beckham is on loan to the Serie A side and is due to return to Los Angeles next month. Victoria has made it clear she is determined to stay in the States where she has become a huge success.

But AC Milan has indicated that they want him to stay and Beckham has confessed he would be more than happy to remain.

"I am surprised at how quickly I have settled. I knew I'd enjoy myself but I wasn't expecting to enjoy myself so much," he said.

Beckham also said that he had taken advice from England's Italian boss Fabio Capello and compared him to his former manager at Manchester United Sir Alex Ferguson, saying that they were both "tough but had charisma". (ANI)
