Baghdatis out of Wimbledon with knee injury
Eastbourne, England - Marcos Baghdatis Friday withdrew from the Wimbledon Championships starting Monday after suffering a knee injury this week in the Netherlands.
The 2006 Australian Open finalist slipped on the grass during a match and had to be carried off court on a stretcher in severe pain. He was replaced in the draw by Karol Beck of Slovakia.
Baghdatis joins Frenchman Gael Monfils, who pulled out with a wrist injury suffered last week at Queen's club.
Top-seeded defending champion Rafael Nadal was to decide later whether he can defend his title after testing his injured knees at a London exhibition event Friday.(dpa)
