Auto Majors eying to increase their production facilitiesWith the Auto sector in India scaling new heights, India's largest auto maker- Maruti Suzuki is chalking out plans to set up its third manufacturing plant at Manesar, Haryana.

The company is pumping Rs 1,700 crore for this facility.

The upcoming manufacturing facility of the company is expected to have an annual capacity of 2.5 lakh units. This facility of the auto major will be quite similar to its second plant in Manesar only. Currently the company has a an annual capacity of three lakh units per annum at its Manesar plant and a total capacity of seven lakh units per annum at its Gurgaon plant.

The reason for this move by the company is the expected surge in the automobile sector of the country which is subjected to escalate up to double by 2015. This in order to meet up the increased demand almost all the auto majors are ramping up their production levels.

While Honda is also deciding on its assembly operations at its second plant in Rajasthan.
