ATF price raised by 3.2%

Aviation-FuelThe oil marketing firms has raised the ATF price by 3.2%. This has been done for the fourth time in last two months. The state owned oil retail companies have decided to raise the jet fuel.

The rise in international oil rates has forced the companies to increase the ATF prices this time. According to an official of the Indian Oil Corporation, the Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) rate is raised by Rs 1,338 per kilolitre. Now it will be available at Rs 42,179 per kiloliter. This new price will be activated from midnight tonight.

However, this has created a fresh concern for the aviation industry of the country. The jet fuel will undoubtedly cost more to the airlines. As per a rough estimation, it will increase the operating cost of the airlines by 40%.

The fuel price hike will put an extra burden on the Indian carriers. Earlier on 1st of April, the jet fuel price has been raised by 1.4% in Delhi and after that again it was increased in the month of March.
