Apple to probe reports of electrocution by iPhone deviceTechnology giant, Apple has said that it would launch an investigation into reports that a woman in China was electrocuted while she was using an iPhone device while it was recharging.

The brother of the 23 year old women said in a media interview that the family believes that she received an electric chock while using the device. She was receiving a call while the phone was attached to a live charger and apparently received a shock. Chinese news agency Xinhua said that the police officials are investigating the death of Ma Ailun in the city of Xinjiang.

The news agency did not say that the cause of accident was the mobile phone. Ms Ma's elder sister posted a update on the micro-blogging service Sina Weibo after her death saying that she needs an explanation from Apple and she also advised people not to use their devices while they are being charged. Chense media said that tehpost has been reposted more than 3,000 times by users on the site.

"We are deeply saddened to learn of this tragic incident and offer our condolences to the Ma family. We will fully investigate and co-operate with authorities in this matter," Apple said in a statement.
