Despite her reportedly rocky relationship with singer John Mayer, the actress claims that no matter whether or not they are together, the two still 'adore one another'. The 'Friends' star said she and Mayer are always 'watched' by people because the rocker is nine years younger to her, and also because of his past relationships with starlets like Jessica Simpson.

Aniston said that their break up in August this year withstanding, there never has been any malicious intent. She added the fact remains that she "deeply, deeply" cares about Mayer.

Talking about her relationship with Mayer at present, she said: "It's funny when you hit a place in a relationship and you both realize we maybe need to do something else, but you still really, really love each other. It's painful."

Meanwhile, Mayer too views their relationship in a more or less similar manner, saying that he likes having her around. He told People. com: "It's really nice to have somebody in life have your back. That girl knows me . . . so whether I go to bed alone or not, to have somebody who knows you in this world, that's a really nice thing."

Though there has been talk of Mayer starring in his own TV series on CBS, nothing has been confirmed just yet, not even by Mayer himself, who calls this "rumors" for the present. He said he would like to keep them rumors for the time being, as he wants everything to be "as baked as possible before it comes out of the oven."
