Alstom Projects bags contract worth Rs 265 croreAlstom Projects India Ltd, a majority owned subsidiary company of Alstom SA France – the global leader in power generation and rail infrastructure, has bagged an order worth Rs 265 crores from Lanco Infratech Ltd to install a new power plant (Teesta Hydroelectric Project Stage VI) on the Teesta river in Sikkim region (India).

Within the scope of this contract, APIL will supply 4 x 125 MW Francis turbines and generators, as well as the main inlet valves and control and protection systems.

Apart from this, the contract also includes design, engineering, erection, testing and commissioning.

The order will be fully executed by APIL's facility in Vadodara, India, with the project scheduled for completion by 2013.

Among the hydropower plants Alstom is currently installing in India are Lower Jurala (6x40 MW Bulb and generators), Chamera (3x77 MW Francis and generators), Uri-II (4x60MW Francis), Chuzachen (2x55MW Francis) and Subansiri (8x250 MW Francis and generators)

The shares of Alstom Project today closed at Rs 475, down 6% compared to its previous close. The counter has made 52-week-high and low of Rs 538 and Rs 191 respectively.
