Nearly 161 passengers of an  had a narrow escape when the right wing of one air craft grazed in the runway while landing at Karippur International Airport in Malapppuram in Kerala.

All passengers were reported safe and the aircraft did not suffer any major damage said an airport official.

The aircraft AI 962 was flying from Jeddah to Karippur (Calicut). But it tilted while landing. Tip of its right wing was rubbed in the runway.

Engineers from Mumbai were expected to arrive at the site for detailed check, the pilot said.
