90pct of Glastonbury tickets already sold

Glastonbury FestivalLondon, Jan 21 : Ninety percent of tickets for the Glastonbury Festival have already been sold much before the event begins in summers, revealed founder Michael Eavis.

While the festival's tickets failed to sell in advance last year, this year the bosses put the 137,500 tickets on sale in October, earlier than ever.

Speaking after picking up an award for environmental work at the Midem music conference in France, Eavis, who hosts the show on his Somerset farm, said that four headliners- two English and two from the US-have been lined up for the June event.

"You''ll be amazed when you hear the headliners we''ve got coming this year, and we''ve already sold 90% of the tickets for this year already," the BBC quoted him as saying.

He added: "We''ve got four headliners at the moment. If they all confirm, then I''ve got two headliners for Saturday."

However, he refused to disclose the identity of these headliners because the stars have tickets on sale for their own summer shows across Europe. (ANI)
