The survey conducted by industry body Assocham also showed that a whopping 78 per cent of the vehicles do not have a registration certificate while 79 per cent are running in the city without a pollution certificate. The survey that was conducted by the chamber during December 2012 was aimed at ascertaining the traffic safety norms on public transport vehicles.

The survey revealed that majority of drivers of school buses, cabs, tempos, cars did not have a valid driving license in the city. About half of the participants in the survey were in the age group, 25-29 years, followed by 30-39 years with about 25 per cent, 40-49 years with 15 per cent, 50-59 years with 10 per cent.
