80-year-old man rescued after 11 days from China’s quake rubble
Beijing, May 26 : An 80-year-old man was rescued in Mianzhu city of Sichuan Province 11 days after the area was hit by an earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale.
Xiao Zhihu, a partially paralysed man, survived by being fed by his wife, The China Daily reported on Sunday.
The official death toll from the worst natural disaster to hit China in
three decades stands at more than 60,000, and nearly 30,000 people are still
missing.
An aftershock measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale is the strongest since the 8.0-magnitude Wenchuan County quake on May 12, was also felt across China on Sunday. (ANI)
