2024 Fiat 500e: Explore Range, Specifications, and Pricing

The 2024 Fiat 500e city car has emerged as a significant milestone for automobile group Stellantis, marking its inaugural foray into the fast-growing electric car market across the United States. Positioned as a remarkable contestant in the small car segment, the all-new model of the 2024 Fiat 500e aims to redefine the landscape of urban electric mobility. Let’s explore the key aspects of this new EV by having a comprehensive look at its range, specifications, and pricing.

The new iteration of the electric car proves more budget-friendly than its predecessor, as it comes with a competitive starting price of $32,500 (excluding destination charge of $1,595). The budget-friendly price tag reflects Stellantis' commitment to accessible electric mobility. While it doesn’t qualify for the federal tax credit because of its Italian production origin, potential incentives will likely be available through leasing arrangements.

The new compact electric car boasts a substantial improvement in its capacity, thanks to its 42-kilowatt-hour battery pack, which promises a remarkable 75 per cent increase over the original model. This improvement translates to an EPA Combined range of 149 miles on a single charge. It represents a remarkable 77 per cent boost from the previous version. Notably, the increased capacity doesn't add weight, which highlights advancements in battery energy density. The EV’s range performance aligns well with its urban focus, offering 162 miles in city driving, which marks an 80 per cent improvement over its predecessor.

When it comes to power, the new electric car maintains its front-wheel-drive (FWD) configuration, with incorporation of an 87-kilowatt electric motor. This motor marks a slight improvement over the previous model’s motor. The upgraded powertrain enables acceleration from 0-60 mile per hour (mph) in 8.5 seconds, which also represents improvement of 4.5 per cent. Its top speed has been reported at 94 mph. These enhancements contribute to a more dynamic driving experience, catering to urban scenarios and beyond.

A notable stride has also been made in terms of charging capabilities. In spite of the substantial increase in battery capacity, the onboard charger now operates at 11 kW, compared to the previous model’s 6 kW. With the inclusion of a CCS1 charging port facilitates DC fast charging, rapid charging from 0 to 80 per cent state-of-charge (SoC) takes just 35 minutes at up to 85 kilowatts.

With its features, specs and capabilities optimized for urban lifestyles, the 2024 Fiat 500e sets a new standard in the small electric car segment, representing a leap forward in Stellantis' electric mobility endeavors.
