15 products which were made for weight-loss purposes have been banned in China. This has been done since these products said to increase risks related to heart. These products have been banned by the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA). The report first came in China Daily.

The pharma watchdog in the country revealed that the decision has been done after looking at the latest research on sibutramine showed that risks related to these products are more than their benefits. Sibutramine is a key ingredient in all anti-obesity medication. These chemical reduces the appetite and metabolism inside the users body. The chemical was first introduced in US in 1997 and later on sent to China where it reached in 2000. Latest directives call for recall and destruction of the above mentioned drugs.

This comes soon after US FDA said that all the medicines having the chemical should be removed from the market immediately. Not only that, EU, Australia as well as Canada have followed the footsteps and banned these drugs earlier this year. Some of the drug stores have already stopped the sale of these drugs.
