Zaheer Khan back into action
Indian left-arm pacer Zaheer Khan has fully recovered from the shoulder injury as he made comeback for Mumbai against Baroda in the West Zone league T20 tournament at the Deccan Gymkhana cricket ground on Tuesday.
Zaheer failed to deliver his best as he took only one wicket for 31 runs in his four overs. Baroda captain Yusuf Pathan smashed four consecutive boundaries in Zaheer’s over before losing his wicket on the fifth ball of the same over.
Zaheer had sustained a shoulder injury during the cash rich and lucrative Indian premier League (IPL-2) due to which he was out of the cricketing arena from last four months.
Zaheer had missed ICC T20 World Cup in England in June, the Tri-nation series in Sri Lanka in September, and the Champions Trophy in South Africa due to injury. Zaheer will also miss the upcoming seven ODI matches series against Australia.
Meanwhile, Mumbai has thrashed Baroda by 32 runs. Mumbai scored 190 for 9 in 20 overs, and Baroda finished their innings at 158 for 8 in 20 overs. Mumbai will now lock horns with Gujrat in the next league match on the same venue on Wednesday.
