Promising young cricket player Gagandeep was killed over a paltry scuffle at a kabab shop in Meerut on Friday night.

It is learnt that the whole unpleasant incident occurred around 11:30 pm (on Friday night) when Gagandeep along with his friend was standing outside a shop.

Speaking on this, Inspector Rakesh Kumar, said: “Four youths shot at a trader, Haji Shahnawaz, after a brawl and were escaping from there when Gagandeep, along with his friends, tried to nab them. One of the youths opened fire at Gagandeep. The cricketer was rushed to hospital where he succumbed.”

Meanwhile, the state police have arrested six people in connection with the murder of player.

Gagandeep was a member of the Uttar Pradesh under-19 cricket team.

The UP player had just back from a tour of Australia.
