Worried Gilani activates search for new aides
Islamabad, Dec. 4 : Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is struggling to find appropriate people to run his secretariat.
According to a Daily Times report, Gilani is on the lookout for two suitable officials to fill the posts of principal and press secretaries lying vacant in his secretariat.
According to the paper, Gilani’s quest for reliable aides has been complicated by the shocking fall of the bureaucracy over the last eight years due to the misuse of power by National Accountability Bureau hounds.
There are rumors in circulation that the press minister at Pakistan’s High Commission in London Imran Gardezi is being tipped to be Gilani’s new press secretary.
Gardezi has a rich experience of dealing with Pakistani and international media people. He is being considered as the right man for the job.
Gilani himself is said to have already spoken to Gardezi to become his press secretary, as he needs someone like him to be his media manager following the sacking of Zahid Bashir.
But the real challenge for Gilani is to find a suitable man to deal with the bureaucracy, which is not working to his satisfaction. Almost every top bureaucrat has either been jailed or made to face cases for taking big decisions. (ANI)
