Woman’s magical touch can create wonders

Woman’s magical touch can create wondersA new study reveals that mother’s touch or pat on the back can energize the person to do wonders.

The findings of the study are published online in Psychological Science, a journal of the Association for Psychological Science.

The study found that if a woman touches a participant on his back, they would take more risk than the cases when a woman just talk to a participant or a man touches the participant.

Researchers viewed this scenario comes from the way as mother touches her child to make her baby feel secure and happy. In the similar way youngsters also feel happy and adventurous after receiving a touch from a woman.

Researchers said that infants receive lots of touch from their mothers which create a sense of attachment and security and this feeling go all the way to his adulthood. They revealed that youngsters who received a mere handshake or pat on their back from a woman are more willing to take risks associated with unfamiliar situations.

In order to view what happens when those babies grow up; do they require the same touch in their adulthood also to take risks? Jonathan Levav of Columbia University and Jennifer J. Argo of the University of Alberta tested few participants to see if they could take risk, like investing money or taking a gamble.

Researchers have started the experiment by greeting the participants from females and males with a light, comforting touch on their shoulders, or a handshake, or no physical contact at all. They also asked these participants to fill surveys assessing their sense of security during various greeting methods.

At the end of experiment, they found that participants who were touched by females, feel more secure and are more willing to take bigger risks than those who are not at all touched. They also found that a pat by a female on the back do wonders than a handshake by a female.

Thus, study established that women’s touch works similar on the adults as it does on the infants, with an intension to develop security and willingness to take risks.
