We have given enough evidences, Islamabad must act: Pranab Mukherjee
Kolkata, Dec. 21 : External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday reiterated that enough evidence regarding the Mumbai terror attacks has been handed over to Pakistan and that it must take concrete steps on the issue.
"Islamabad must act", he said.
Addressing a press conference at the Bengal Chamber of Commerce in Kolkata, Mukherjee said: "Pakistan has been contradicting its statements. Enough evidence has been given to Pakistan. Pakistan must cooperate and not contradict us. Mere talk is not enough. It has to act."
Islamabad has been provided with enough evidences regarding Mumbai carnage but it has failed to act satisfactorily so far.
"Not once, twice or thrice but as many as ten times we have given evidence. Please pursue those evidence and take action as per your (Pakistani) law", Mukherjee urged.
Referring to the long pending demand of India to hand over fugitives who have taken shelter in Pakistan, Mukherjee said: "Some of the fugitives have taken shelter there. Please arrest them. Those who are Indian citizens, hand them over to us. Those who are required for investigations may be your citizens, also hand over them to us".
He also took note of the contradictory statements made by Pakistan about Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Maulana Masood Azhar.
"Sometimes it is said that he (Azhar) is not seen. Some times it is said that he is not available in Pakistan", Mukherjee added.
Mukherjee added that if Azhar was not there in Pakistan, then how could it be stated by Pakistan''s permanent representative in UN Security Council that action will be taken against him. (ANI)
