U.S. Army selects BAE Systems to strengthen security identification

BAE SystemsAccording to the official reports, the U. S. Army selected BAE Systems to support the strengthening of security identification and verification capabilities at military installations.

It has been reported that under the approximately $95 million award, defense contractor BAE will install ID verification hardware and software technology at Army bases similar to the company's units deployed at Navy and Homeland Security Department installations.

The ID verification technology is designed to reduce time and personnel costs by upgrading permit verification capabilities, Richard Anderson, BAE Systems vice president and general manager for integrated technical solutions, said.

Anderson further said, "These systems are vital to advancing physical security for the Army."

It has also been reported that the ID technology will be deployed at several Army installations and the system will also be networked to allow security authorities to better transfer information between sites. (With Inputs from Agencies)
